Youth and Young Adult

What is needed today is a Church which knows how to respond to the expectations of young people. Jesus wants to enter into dialogue with them and, through His body which is the Church, to propose the possibility of a choice which will require a commitment of their lives. As Jesus with the disciples of Emmaus, so the Church must become the traveling companion of young people..." - St. John Paul II, World Youth Day 1995, Philippines

Youth Ministry Mission Statement
: Here, at Holy Family, the mission of the Catholic Youth Ministry Office is rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church and in conjunction with the Diocese of Oklahoma City. Holy Family's youth ministry program is committed to the reality that young people are the light of our parish community and the hope to lead us into the future. The youth program seeks to foster maturing in the faith of the young people of our parish and the surrounding community. Therefore, it is our goal to draw the youth into responsible participation in life, work, and mission of the parish community. To do this we have compiled four key cornerstones to help the youth in their journeys in becoming the people God has intended them to be.

These cornerstones include:

1. Providing opportunities for the youth and adults we serve to experience the love and hear the call of our Lord Jesus Christ in their lives.

2. Giving our youth and adults ways to experience the Church in a positive manner and giving them opportunities to pray and share their faith with others.

3. Shaping our youth and young adults spiritual and moral values and inspiring a sense of respect for the dignity and rights of themselves and others.

4. Providing our youth and adults a sense of community and belonging not only to the local, but also the universal Church.

Holy Family Youth Group will take place from 5:30pm - 8:00pm on Wednesday nights. Come join us in the gym from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm for fun and fellowship. Then from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm come join in dynamic activities which help lead us to a greater understanding of our faith, our God, and even ourselves!  Our Youth Group will also partake in community service projects, retreats, conferences, and other faith filled adventures throughout the year.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY: In our world today it is difficult to be a young Catholic adult. With this in mind we have formed the Young Adult Ministry (YAM's). YAM's will give the young adults, ranging in age from eighteen to thirty-nine, a place to deepen their relationship with Christ and continue to educate themselves in the Catholic faith. Young adult ministry is diverse and encourages all of those within the age group stated above to join us when we meet every second and fourth Thursday's of the month from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m. We currently have Theology on Tap, Bible studies, guest speakers, prayer nights, retreats, and fellowship for the young adults.  All are welcome so please join us!  For more information please contact Billy Gonsler at 580.536.6351 ext 122, or email
