Hospital and Homebound

The ministry to the home-bound, sick and nursing home parishioners consists primarily in bringing Holy Communion to those who are unable to come to Mass at the church due to age, illness, disability or other special circumstance.  This includes those who live at home, the sick who are hospitalized, and those residing in nursing homes or retirement centers.  There are a few parishioners who minister as parish visitors.  As the name suggests, their purpose is to visit with the parishioner, and/or to pray with them.  Currently this ministry is primarily with nursing home and retirement center residents with the exception of a home-bound.  "Thinking of you" cards are sent monthly to the home-bound and those in retirement centers.  Nursing home parishioners receive a monthly note containing a prayer card.  Birthday cards are also mailed to the home-bound.
