Event Overview and Destinations
Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawton, Oklahoma, is hosting a "Pilgrimage to Santa Fe" led by Fr. Brannon Lepak and Fr. Phil Seeton. This journey invites participants to explore where Catholicism was first planted and grew within the United States.
The travel itinerary is divided between destinations in Santa Fe and Albuquerque:
- Santa Fe: Travelers will visit the Church of San Miguel, recognized as the oldest church in continuous use in the United States, built in 1610. The tour also features the Loretto Chapel, famous for the legend of its miraculous staircase built by St. Joseph. Additionally, open time is scheduled for exploring the shopping, museums, cultural sites, and restaurants at The Plaza, as well as the art galleries along Canyon Road.
- Albuquerque: The group will stop at the Santuario de Chimayo. Built in 1816, this historical location is widely recognized as a site of miracles and cures.
At each designated destination, there will be a prayer service along with a short presentation about the significance of the site. Following these brief group gatherings, participants are free to spend the remainder of the day exploring the locations at their own pace.
