Baptism
Baptism of Adults
Adults and older children may be baptized after attending the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) classes or by individual instruction with a priest or deacon. Please contact the parish office for more information.
Infant Baptisms
Congratulations on the birth of your child! Parents seeking baptism for their child must be registered and attending Mass at Holy Family parish for at least three months before requesting a baptism date.
Parents, if you are not married in the Church, we will be happy to assist you if you would like to begin the process. Please contact Deacon Mike Romaka if you have questions or would like more information.
Instruction to help parents prepare for baptism is required. Parents should contact the Parish Office to register for the next available Baptism Preparation Class.
Baptisms are scheduled at least one month following the class completion. After completing the class, please call the parish office to schedule your date.
Godparents from another Catholic parish, other than Holy Family, must have a letter from their pastor. This letter must indicate they have attended a Baptismal Preparation Class, are attending Mass regularly on Sundays, and are registered members of said Catholic parish. This letter must be sent to Holy Family's parish office, with the name of the child, not less than one month prior to their baptism. No sponsor may serve as a godparent without this letter.
Parents must call the Priest or Deacon who will be celebrating the Sacrament two weeks prior to the baptism to confirm the time and date, and to make sure all preparations are complete.
Baptisms during Mass are only celebrated on the third weekend of the month. If you would like your child baptized outside of Mass, the Sacrament will be celebrated by a Deacon on another weekend.
