Beloved in the Lord,
Amidst all the panic and fear often we forget that God is our help. Very few leaders and social media sites have encouraged prayer, only referring to the bodily precautions, forgetting the spiritual helps available in this time of trial.

Watching and listening to the media spew out all sorts of "facts" and figures (many conflicting and some just untrue) can cause more stress and anxiety.
Instead of obsessing about coronavirus and all the things that could happen now is a time to pray more and to renew our trust in God.
The following short prayer is from the fourth century and was prayed by Christians in times of plague, civil war, natural disasters, invasion, terrorism and famine.
We offer it here to be prayed individually at home and at Masses for the aversion of the coronavirus and for those who are sick. It is easy to memorize and can be used in time of personal crisis as well.

Save your people, O Lord and bless your inheritance.
Grant victory to Your Church over her enemies
and by the power of Your cross, save Your people.
