Beloved in the Lord,
It has been a great blessing for the deacons and me to celebrate Masses with you in “real time” and real place. The Eucharistic famine is over and many of us have returned to the normal celebration of Mass.
Beginning next week the Masses will not be posted on the parish website or YouTube. Sunday and daily Masses can be watched on:
- Fidelity Cablevision - Eternal Word Television Channel 080
- Vyve Broadband Cache-Pecan Valley-Indiahoma - Eternal Word Television
Channel 072
This is specifically for those who are regularly homebound and for those who because of age or health concerns are not currently able to attend Mass in person.
A number of people have asked if the physical distancing and the cap on the number of people we have at each Mass is necessary. It is necessary because the virus continues to be an issue and the Archbishop has mandated these requirements. Whether we choose to believe that Covid 19 is still a threat is a choice we can make personally, but not in church.
None of the Masses are at the “capped” capacity of 125 people (with physical distancing) so there is no reason to add Masses at this point.
PLEASE COME!
We have moved the Tuesday evening Mass to 6:30 p.m. since a number of people stated that they would come to that Mass if it was offered at a time after they finished work.
PLEASE HELP!
We still need faithful people to sanitize the church after the noon Mass on Sunday. Many “signed up” but not many have followed through…not a good thing. Being faithful is a sign of love. If you signed up and truly can’t do it that is one thing, just to stop is another.
One person said, “I don’t clean my own house, you want me to clean the church?” I said, “Yes, hire somebody to clean your house but you could give 20 minutes to clean the house of the Lord. Here we are all servants.” (This was used with permission of the person who said it and she has agreed to help.)
PLEASE PRAY!
Pray for the end of the Corona virus, healing for those affected and for their families. Remember to pray for those who care for the sick.
Please pray too for an end to violence in our land. Please pray that peace and justice might reign in all our hearts. Please pray for true equality for all peoples. Please pray for an end to complacency.
O Mother of Christ, gift of your Son to the human race,
be a mother to us all,
you are the strong intercessor for our city, country and all the world.
Present our prayers before the throne of the King of Glory,
your Son, our God for there is a sickness in our land that only He can destroy.
By your prayers ask that He might cause the end of injustice and
give true peace and freedom to all people.
Intercede for us that He may put down all violence and cause
merciful forgiveness to reign in our hearts.
O joy of the sorrowful and consolation of the afflicted, Queen of Peace,
hear your children so that quickly receiving your wondrous help
we might glorify the Life-giving Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
forever and ever. Amen.
And know that I remember you in my prayers and am thankful to God that I serve such a great parish.
Please remember me to the Lord.
Fondly, Fr. Phil
