O Master and King, you are the God who set your people free from captivity to tyrants and made them your chosen people, a holy nation and royal priesthood.

 

You have restored us to an everlasting life shared with you, our Father, and the Holy Spirit, through baptism, anointing, and the lifegiving body and blood of your Son, our Savior shed for the life of the world.

 

As we prepare to elect the leaders of our country, send down the spirit of wisdom, courage, and faith to inform our choice.

 

Open our ears to hear your word,
our eyes to see the hungry, naked, the homeless and stranger among us. Strengthen our wills to feed, clothe, and provide shelter to them. Enlighten our minds with your grace and strength to protect life from conception to natural death doing always what is pleasing to you.  Grant that our choice may be faithful to the life affirming Gospel of your Son.

 

As citizens of your kingdom, we implore you to deliver your justice in our midst. For to you alone belongs all glory, honor, and worship, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen
